My review today as well as the next 4, will all be Starlooks. I'm really excited to bring you these reviews because I'm a huge fan of this product line. If you are interested in trying it, I suggest first signing up for a Starlooks Starbox where you will recieve 3 full size makeup items from their product line. If you love what you get (and you will!) then look around their store and pick out a few things you'd love to try, shipping is very reasonable! If you need recommendations let me know.
Today, I am reviewing Starlooks Gentle Clear Away Makeup Remover. It is a 100ml bottle and retails for $15.00. It comes in a carton made of recycled paper. The product is cruelty free, like all Starlooks products are. It comes in a really cute shaped bottle in a purple colour.
The product is made up of 2 parts oil and 8 parts water. It's much like a Lancome remover where the oil sits at the top. The difference with this product packaging is that it comes in a spray bottle. I really like that because you can control how much you want to use. To use it, you shake the bottle really well to mix the oil with water, spray it on to a cotton round and gently wipe makeup off your face. The remover is completely non-greasy. You wouldn't actually know there is any oil in there if it was an opaque bottle. Personally, for myself I always find that if remover has a little bit of oil it really helps remove the product better. It doesn't have any scent that I can smell and I have a sensitive sense of smell.
I find that the product works wonderfully for the face. It removes makeup clean. The only thing it doesn't do well is remove eye makeup. If you work at your lashes for awhile, it will come clean. To the removers defense, it's not an eye makeup remover. Also, I tend to wear 3 coats of mascara, 2 different brands each day...so it's layered on quite thick. If you like your makeup remover to be all in one this may not be the best choice. If you want a makeup remover that gently and effectively removes makeup (and oil...and dirt) this will definitely do the job! Starlooks does have eye makeup remover on their site HERE that I have heard good things about.
It does say on the packaging to avoid getting this in your eye. I have, however, used it on my lashes and have had no problems. My eyes are pretty sensitive and this didn't irritate them at all.
Have you tried this product yet? What kind of makeup removers do you like to use? The eye makeup remover from Starlooks is something I would like to try in the near future.
Hope you had a great weekend.

I have one from Quo that kind of looks the same - shake it up. That one is great for waterproof mascara though. So tempted to do a Starlooks order, but I'm waiting for the Dec box first!
ReplyDeleteYou will have to do an order sometime! If you need any help picking out some faves, let me know!
DeleteI absolutely love Starlooks. I love how it feels like we are in an exclusive beauty box since I don't see alot of posts on them. I haven't ordered anything yet but I will be soon just waiting for the holidays to finish. Have you tried the i-primer yet? I love it
ReplyDeleteStarlooks is amazing. They haven't been in business a very long time but I foresee big things for them. The I-Primer is really good and a little goes a long way! If you need any advice on picking anything out, let me know! :)
DeleteVery cool, I'm interested in their products, it seems they have good quality and the service with 3 full size products is really nice since the products seem to be very good quality.
ReplyDeleteOh amazing! If you haven't heard me talk about it. Their chemist is a former MAC chemist and their product is formulated in Canada. In BC to be exact. Maybe they can at some point have a distribution centre in Canada...wow wouldn't that be a dream job working there! lol It's a great deal. You're paying for high end at a fraction of the price!
