July Julep Maven

Hello again, ladies!  Today I want to share with you the Julep box I received for July!  My survey says I'm Classic with a Twist and this month I really adored the colours in that box, so I stuck with it! The past two times I switched to It Girl because I wanted the extra polish rather than the product.  In any case, I did also add on Kate and Daphne which I forgot to photograph.  I'm sure I'll get to swatches down the road if I ever get caught up with my posts!! lol

So, the colours I recived in my Classic with a Twist box were Audrey and Freida. The last one on the end is a special addition (ie free) for the Olympics! It's O Canada. 

This is Audrey..gorgeous gorgeous soft light pink micro shimmer. My swatch went on like a dream.

Freida.  I keep thinking it should be Frieda..you know i before e... ;) This is another gorgeous colour. It's an electric fuchsia micro shimmer.

This is the lovely O Canada that was added as a free gift for the Mavens.  If you live in Canda you received this one. If you live in America you received a glitter named America - The Beautiful.  I think it's amazing that Julep not only went above and beyond to include this gift in our boxes...but went as far as to make their girls feel patriotic to their own countries!! So special! I know everyone wanted their boxes in time for Canada Day (July 1) and Independence Day (July 4) but these were meant to show your country pride for the upcoming Summer Olympics in London! :)

Look at these beautiful colours!  My only complaint is that I wish the glitter was red and white instead of red and iridescent!   However, I cannot complain because I love it regardless.  I love the special name of it too!

So as you know as a Julep Maven you get your 2 polishes and the third item is a product. Unless you are an "It Girl" you just get the 3 polishes.  This month they included lip glosses!   I am a lip glossoholic..want me to prove it to you?  ;) You can tempt me and I will! lol  I was super excited about this addition!

The colour is called Camellia.  It's a soft light pink with shimmer...can you see it? :)  This was meant to go with the current trend of matching your nails to your lips.  If you look up it's pretty close to what Audrey looks like!

I thought I would give you guys a closeup of my nose lips. ;) If this doesn't make me feel exposed nothing will! ;)  As you can see, the colour is fairly nude. But, pretty for sure.

Here is a closeup..eek! My only complaint (and you may see it if you zoom in) is it really pools into the creases of your lips and kind of sits there.  It's really nothing you would notice unless you were examining close up.  I may try this with something underneath..a primer perhaps.  Do you like this colour?

Here is the whole lovely collection.  I am seriously blown away with the colours and I think this has been one of my most favouritest months yet!

I've included stock images of my add-ons since I forgot to take pics.  I kind of regret choosing these colours because they're kinda blah.  I don't know why I didn't think to choose some of the other sparkly fun colours they had! GRR!  The one on the left is Kate - a soft white pearl.  It has lots of pretty shimmer in the bottle, but when it goes on it's pretty flat.  A bit of a bummer. The one on the right is Daphne a fresh seafoam green. It's actually a greyish blue..darker than pictured here. Not sure yet how I feel about it, as I've only swatched it on my colour wheel!
