ebeauty - Here Comes the Sun Cosmetic Bag

Before, I get into what the post is about. I just wanted to share these two body scrubs I picked up at Dollarama.  I can't remember if they were $1 or $2 each, but I fell in love with the vintage images. The yellow one is "Southern Belle" in peach mango. It smells SO good, I could eat it!  The red one is "New York Cheesecake With An Edge" in Vanilla Strawberry. It smells like fresh strawberries! I think these were super good buys.  There were 2 other flavours that I didn't grab.  They are a nice creamy consistency and have tiny exfoliating beads!  If you stop by Dollarama..check if they have these there!

Now, on to my main post.  Over summer ebeauty had a Here Comes the Sun Cosmetic Bag deal.  It was $30 with an approximate retail value of over $150.  The best part was there was a coupon for 20% off so the bag only cost $24.  I of course wound up spending $50 on the site to get the free shipping. :)  Everything came in this really nice sturdy cosmetic bag with double zippers. It has a zippered pocket inside as well.

The first item is the Perricone MD Face Finishing Moisturizer. It's a moisturizer you can use in the morning and before bed. It has a lightweight texture and is loaded with antioxidants to help firm skin's appearance and minimize the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles and enlarged pores.  It has vitamin c in it for visibly radiant, smooth and porcelain like appearance.

I have a couple Perricone moisturizers now that I'm hoarding.  I've heard good things about it and I'm just trying to get through my smaller samples before getting to the bad boy!

Value: $79.00 for 59mL.

This is the cream inside and it has a really nice consistency. It has a nice light floral scent.  I don't know why but it makes me think of lily of the valley.  I don't even know if lily of the valley has a scent! lol

The next item in the bag are the Boscia Vanilla Blotting Linens.  I haven't tried these yet, but again I've heard really good things about them!  I have an obsession with blotting linens because they are a fabulous thing to keep in your bag if you get the dreaded forehead shine.  Body Shop ones have been my standby since high school days, they've been the best I've ever tried.

Value: $12.00 for 100 sheets.

Then we have the product I was least excited about.  It's a deluxe sample of Atelier Orange Sanguine.  This is an item that came in a Glymm bag I believe.  I wasn't really a fan of the scent.  It smells like orange peels to me..with the slight bitter scent..not just the fresh sweet scent of oranges. The full size is also ridiculously expensive at $165 for 200mL.

Next, we have the second disappointment in the bag.  The Nyx Xtreme lip cream.  On the website it mentioned that we would get a high shine gloss, but obviously this isn't the same product.  All that writing on the bottle says: "It's not lipstick, nor is it gloss. It's like nothing you've experienced before.  It's liquid lipstick that goes on with full Xtreme colour and intense shine."

Well..needless to say it's thick. Really thick.  Like applying butter to your lips.  It doesn't have shine and it looks fairly matte.  When you finally get it applied to look half decent, you close your lips and the bottom lip transfers a lip line to the top lip..do you know what I mean?  The colour isn't the greatest..it's a nude colour that almost makes me look like I have no lips. It doesn't have lasting power.  Not sure it's a good one for winter...but then this wasn't the winter beauty bag. ;)  Did anyone else try this? What did you think?  I'll do some swatches soon for you.

Value: $9.00 for 7mL.

This is how it looks on the brush. It's a little more muted then it appears here. Less pink more taupey. It's actually called Peach Fuzz.

Next, is a deluxe sample of Cargo lashactivator.  I think I have a bunch of full size ones from their birthday beauty bag. The mascara if it works is an interesting one.  It's supposed to promote lash vitality and reduce loss of lashes.  I do want to try this out..but I have a bajillion mascaras on the go and don't want to open anymore for now so they don't expire. I'm not sure how much is in this tube but the full size is quite pricey at $35 for an 11mL tube.

Next item sounds super fun! It's it Cosmetics Bye Bye Pores Airbrush Bronzer. A poreless finish hd micro powder with hydro-collagen, silk and vitamins K, A, C & E.  It says you only need a very small amount. It absorbs excess oil and minimizes the appearance of fine lines, pores and imperfections for an airbrushed soft-focus finish.  Really!??! Those are some claims! Has anyone tried it..what do you think? I'm excited to try it.

Value: $29 for 6.8g.

It looks a bit dark in the pot, I think you really have to be light handed!  It's a big pot of product!

Next, is a brand I've never heard of.  It's Lippy Girl.  It's an organic mineral blush.  This product is so pretty that I know I'll love it before even trying it! Don't disappoint me Lippy Girl! It is a bit chalky but it has a really nice natural flush colour.  I think the packaging is a wee bit excessive (TOO BIG!) for the size of the blush but it's so darn cute! Oh and it's a Canadian product!

Value: $16.50 for 3.5g.

Ahh look at the cute packaging! Doesn't it look like Barbie?  The colour I received is Tongue In Cheek.

Here is a closeup of the colour..oooh so pretty!

Next is a really nice product! It's the mereadesso lip treats.  I think they said they were shipping them out in various colours but everyone, including myself seemed to have received clear.  There is 2 in a pack so it would have been really nice if they gave us 2 different colours to try. It actually has a really nice consistency and has a very faint lemony taste to it. I really like these a lot...the longer you wear it the better your lips feel..it eventually gives you a slight minty tingle.  I may repurchase these, but they're quite pricey.

Value: $28 for 1.2g x2.

This is how it looks.  They are actually quite thin so I worry that it could break if you put too much pressure on it.

The last item in the bag is a Nail Tek Mini Swarovski Nail File.  It's a glass file.  The only other glass file I've tried was from Julep and it didn't hold up. The grit on this is super fine.  I love that it comes in its own little case.  It's a pretty cheap case, but it's still cute!  It says it's made from Czech premium glass. I don't really know what that means lol. This is just another item to throw into my purse..lol. I'm not sure what they would value this at since it's a mini size.  But the full size (which is a standard size file) is $25! eek!

I love the pretty swarovski crystals on the handle.  Isn't that so pretty? :) It has a lifetime replacement guarantee...whoa, sweet! The number is 631.366.0500 or 800.676.2457. The website is www.nailtek.com.

Finally..here is the whole bag.  It was a really fun one with tons of products I haven't tried.  I was happy with everything aside from the Atelier cologne and the Nyx lip stuff.  The total value is over $150 and I payed $24...so I can't complain at all!

I know others had purchased this.  What have you tried and what were your impressions?

It's Wednesday evening, it's all downhill from here, girls!

    1. I didn't like the Nyx..it just feels like it's sitting on top of my lips! Do you have online stores in your country.

  4. I bought this bag too some time ago when it came out and I've been very pleased with the contents. The Lippy Girl blush is my go-to daily blush, I just love it. It's not super pigmented which is good for me since I just want a slight flush of colour and nothing too intense. I also love that it's organic and Canadian. And I think I made a similar comment about the packaging, lol

I've been using the Perricone cream lately and I actually really like it a lot I always have an adjustment when I try a new cream and for this one not only was it new to my face but I had put too much the first time and it actually burned uncomfortably. I thought for sure I wasn't going to be able to continue using it but when I tried again with a more appropriate amount of cream it just made a tingle and now I don't feel it at all. It moisturizes well and leaves my skin soft. I have slight problems with the cream fully absorbing and I sometimes have to rub off some excess cream from my harder-to-absorb areas but I still like it quite a bit. After not using it for a week and going back to it, I found a strange comfort in the pretty intense rose smell it has. :)
