Starlooks Order First Impressions

Hi ladies! I wanted to share something special with you!  Often we subscribe to many different beauty boxes in hopes of finding a product we love, to test a wide variety of products, or just to have stuff put together for us without having to spend too much money.  It really depends on what each of us look for.  Through beauty boxes I have learned that I absolutely LOVE Pandora blush and I had never heard of it before. I fell in love with mineral eye shadows from everyday minerals... however, I didn't think I would fall in love with a particular monthly sub as much as I did with Starlooks Starbox.  It's a little bit different, in that you get 3 full size makeup products from their own brand.  I hesitated for a long time before making the decision to try it.  I am now awaiting my 5th box from them and they are one of my top 2 subs!  If you are interested in signing up, head over to the Starlooks website and shoot them an email.  Let them know I sent you. :)

Anyways, this is a special post, it's a non sub, it's just a good old fashioned bag of goodies that I was interested in trying!  I will be doing more detailed reviews over the next couple weeks but wanted to share this haul with you now.  The shipping was incredibly fast! It showed up at my door in 7 days!  That's impressive!  All my goodies were packed in this bag, as if I had just shopped in a retail store!

All Starlooks outer packaging is made using recycled materials.  The makeup itself is cruelty free.

This is what I picked up: Gentle Clear Away Makeup Remover, Balanced Satin Finish Foundation, Cream Blusher, Precision Eye Definer Pen and Infinity Lip Colour.

The first item is the Gentle Clear Away Makeup Remover. It retails for $15. This is a nice size bottle at 100ml.  It's made of 8 parts water and 2 parts oil.  It's completely non greasy. I like that is has a spritzer, that's not something you usually see on a makeup remover.

Here is a closeup, I just love the sleek design of the bottle.

Next, is the Balanced Satin Finish Foundation.  It retails for $18.  This is a nice size bottle at 40ml and it's priced right! I love the unique design of the bottle.  I find their packaging stands out from the rest.

This is the colour, I chose: FK105.  It's not always easy to match a colour from the computer I didn't do too bad! They have a wide variety of colours for all skin types!

The bottle is a nice size at 40ml. It comes in a nice frosted glass bottle.  If you use liquid foundation remember to use a beauty blender to get the most out of your foundation!

It has a pump top.  This is a bit scary at first.  You think of something like the Benefit concealer where it squirts out too much product.  Well, what's special about this one is that you can push this down part way to get just a little bit out as opposed to pushing it down all the way and getting a big gob. Less waste!

Getting the colour to show up properly proved difficult. :)  However, I want to say that it blended into my skin (on my wrist) perfectly. I can't wait to try it on my face!  It has a really nice satin finish and a nice light scent.

Next, I picked up something that I had never even heard of before.  It's a Creme Blusher in the colour Elegant. It is 6g and retails for $11.00.  Based on the website images I did expect this to be lighter.  However, it does go on a lot lighter than it looks in the container.  I haven't actually used this product yet, but I am super excited to!  I hope this is included in a future Starlooks box!

Starlooks packaging is just so gosh darn pretty and classy! Do you see all that shimmer? *swoon*

Now, I have stuck my finger into this and this stuff is as smooth as butter.  It's so freaking amazing that I am just itching to try it on my face!  I've never seen anything like this before.  You just need the lightest of touches to get the product up.  If you've ever stuck your hand in coconut oil, this appears to have a similar consistency.

Next, is a Precision Eye Definer Pen.  It is 1g and retails for $13.00.  For a long while now I have been sticking to gel liners as I find it the easiest to work with.  Recently I had tried a liquid liner pen and really enjoyed it.  Knowing the quality of Starlooks I really wanted to give their version a try.

Again, a gorgeous sleek packaging.

Some more details.  The pen looks to me almost like it would be a mechanical pencil.

Here is a closeup of the tip.  Isn't it amazing?  The quality is top notch.

Here is a couple of quick swatches.  You can see that it's very precise and it's a true black.  Wow!! I'm blown away!

Last item I picked up was an Infinity Lip Colour in Slice.  This is a 2.5g lipstick valued at $13.00.  It's a long wearing lip colour.  We all know those are notorious for drying your lips out.  I did want to try this one though.  I also wanted to try something in the orange family, which is something I've really been enjoying.

This has a really nicely designed package as well.

This is how the lipstick comes out and the colour on my monitor happens to be pretty accurate.  It is a pretty dry lipstick.

Here is a swatch.  You can see that it doesn't look as dry once it's applied.  It's a very pretty colour.

What do you think of the goodies I picked out?  What are you most curious about?  Stay tuned for in depth reviews!

I hope you had a lovely weekend!

    1. It's a little dryer than most, but I think it's because it's long lasting. I will get a full review up once I have really used it!

    1. The shipping is $5! However, maybe in the future they will have some promos? It's still a fairly new company..but I think the shipping is reasonable and it got to me in a week which was hella impressive! :)
